People are using more plastic than ever and they don't realize how detrimental it is to the planet. At this rate, by the year 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish.
We wanted to show that the plastics we throw away today will be the "fossils" of tomorrow so I hand-created each of these pieces from real plastic. As the storytellers of the human race, the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History would be the perfect host for an event that featured the relics of future museums - The Unnatural History Collection. The exhibit would feature plastic mementos of our present labeled with dates from the future. The exhibit would be an invite to all attendees to "change the story" of our planet and change their plastic consumption habits.
